I agree with RuffRob - it's one of those whimsical Mercedes attributes.
I had a windshield replacement on my 83 300D 18 years ago and the glass company worked hard to get the decal off carefully so they could replace it on the new glass.
It's a nice and unique touch that recalls a simpler era.
BTW - I've seen 30 and 40 year old Mercedes with a pretty decent sticker still on the glass - a little yellow with age - but lookin' good.

I am keeping my E. I was going to trade it in on the new SLK350 R171 but the trade in amount the dealer was offering was a joke. So I got a 2002 SLK320 instead and not from the dealership.
