The muffler pipes from the rear muffler section look rusty but still solid on my '00 E320. Is there a recommended way to clean them and protect them from additional rust?
I heard that an undercoating might be useful. What do you guys think?
Brush off the rust with a Wire brush, and then use some rust inhibitor on the affected areas. Once it has dried, spray on some (chose your colour) Very High Temperature Paint (VHTP), which is available at most hardware stores.
