the pop up cup holder in the center console on my recently purchased '01 e320 4matic wagon (30,000mi) stopped working...couple questions... will benz replace this under warranty? and wondering how long a new one will last, ive heard they should be marked "operational in showroom only" !! also, whats the best aftermarket cup holder? and opinions on the best location for it. silly but irksome.

What do you mean by "stopped working"? I'm curious because I have a problem closing the wooden lid, it takes a few tries. However, I can open the lid, push the button to open the cup holders, push the button again to close them.
My lid would not close all the time, (01) they replaced the assembly under warranty (had a few in stock). They needed to loosen console to remove the assembly, the cup holder itself pulls up and out and is easy!
