A Kompressor, is what mercedes-benz calls a supercharger, which basically compresses air before it enters the intake maifold (positive displacement pressure). this leads to more air in the engine, (which contains more oxygen) and therefore gives you a cleaner/stronger/faster burn which in turn produces more power.
I never knew that they offered this engine in the 210, I thought it first came in the 211 (new/current E-class), maybe just at the end of the 210's life or perhaps it was region specific.
