Flashing lights under rear view mirror

Hi all!
I am a new member from Norway. Just bought a -97 E230. Runs great and has 183.000km on it's back. Today when I unlocked the car, the red and green light under the rear view morror started to flash. It flashes for about 20 sec. This also happens when i lock the car. I don't have the manual, and it's my first MB so I'm a bit lost here. Anyone knows what my problem is??

Try replacing batteries in the key remote. I read it somewhere to replace batteries and it worked for me.

That's a visual representation of locking and unlocking the doors,red for locking,and green for unlocking. The
same thing happens on the drivers' side door,and under the lock on the trunk. It's not a problem,it shows you if your car is locked or unlocked Check it and see....[8D]

did you say red and green light together?

if it is flashing alternately, it indicates that the remote key battery needs replacement but....

if it is flashing together at the same time, it indicates some problem with the IFZ, drive authorization, the key, transponder or the signal.

I have a problem with both lights flashing at the same time. I just changed the batteries, but they are still flashing. Any ideas what to do?
