Mercedes just can't stop giving problems, can it? lol
My driver's side back window on my 2000 E320 doesn't work. I opened the door panel and discovered that the barbed wire that pulls the window up/down was bent and was getting caught underneath the motor. So I need to buy a new barbed wire (prob from dealer). I was wondering if anybody has had to deal with this same problem of mine and if they had any luck.
Is it possible for me to hook the barbed wire onto the plastic rolls or do I need to have some kind of "specialist" do it. Thanks for any help guys.

Do a fourm search for "window regulator" to find the procedure.
If the cable sliped off the pully you might get by with just putting it back on. you might still have to drill out the rivits to remove the regulator. Otherwise, you will need a new regulator ($80 USD).
I believe some people have had the window fall and break when their regulator went so be carefull. I shoved a 1x4x24 inch piece of wood into my door to hold the window up untill I got the regulator fixed.

You are going to need a new window regulator assembly. The wire is not available seperately, and obviously something about the regulator caused that wire to fail. It's pretty simple to swap out, but you'll need to drill out the rivets holding it in. You'll need a rivet gun to reinstall the new one.
Sorry for the redundancy. There was no response while I was typing.,..

You need this part.
It is not barbed wire but steal cable. It will either break or get stuck around the plastic pully eventually.
