Rear Door Panel Removal 1998

Can anyone tell me how to remove the door panel to get to the window mechanisms. My window won't go up and it sounds like a gear must be torn up because I can still here the motor. Any Ideas?

Open the door lock knob, ply open the plastic piece where you pull the chrome hook (to open up the door from inside), you see a screw. There's a small round cover bellow the door handle, ply open, you'll see another screw. The last screw is from the door lock mechanism (where it actually hook the door to the body). After that, just pull the panel (be careful, or you may break the plastic snap-on).

YOu need to replace what called window regulator, very common problem for the W210. It cost about $80.

You will need a rivet gun for the job.

You will need one of these... The cable snaps and gets bound up or lets your window drop.
