RUST!
Hi, my dad's just bought a 7 year old w210 estate with hideous rust around the number plate on the back hatch, is this normal or did he stumble on a dud?

RE: RUST!
Rust is very common on the W210 for some reason. check the door sills, you are likely to find some there too.
Surprisingly neither of my 210's have any signs of rust yet. Got them checked very recently (alot of parts were stripped off for the check).

RE: RUST!
Sounds to me like an indifferent accident repair. There's lots of older E classes around me here in the City and I've yet to see a dab of rust on any of them.
