xeon lights or projection (in-pro) for e320 2000 help
i dont know which to purchase
i have standard halogen headlights on my car but i want to upgrade my ride alittle at a time if possible.
if i get OEM merecedes xenon lights can i just plug them in? i heard that some malfunction in the computer onboard will come on, if so can i fix that
or should i just purchase the projection lights?
and can i just plug those in without any problems?
and lastly how about those $100 h7 5000 bulbs selling on ebay will those fry my wires? :)
any responses would be greatly appreciated
thanks[:D]

Don't install any bulb larger than 55 watt. You could melt your housing or wires. I installed Silverstars on mine and am impressed. Do a fourm search for "silverstar" for more info.
Meguire's makes a plastic headlight polish that I have used and it works wonders. It comes in a small packet for $0.99 (where I live) and was on the shelf with the replacement bulbs at Autozone.

The Phillips Blue Vision bulbs are just right for this application. They can be obtained from www.outmotoring.com for $49. I have them in my E320,and they work great!! http://outmotoring.com/philips_blue_vision_bulbs.html

Instead of going through the headache of installing Xenons I would suggest you go for a HID system, you get about the same results as Xenons, just make sure you don't use anything higher than a 7000 otherwise it will look too blue/purple.
As far as the In-Pro's are concerned, I fit mine 3 days ago (as did Ruffrob) and they really make the car look new. Up till 99 the inpro part number is 33610, after that (facelift) you will need part number 43610.

E-Wagon: If you were impressed with the Silverstars, you will have an even bigger smile once you install the Blue Visions. I did yesterday and could easily tell the improvement in brightness. Nice thing was that the package included mini-me, Blue Vision bulbs which fit into the parking light socket which Philips call "W5W" bulbs. Changed the yellowish tinge to the much more satisfying (for me) white-halogen closely matching the BV H7s (left if factory, right is BV W5W)

Thats exactly my next step for my W210.
BTW, would you guys suggest me getting HID's on my high beams as well or not? I know they take some time to warm up so might look a little silly..... any idas?

Storm,
From my experience with rental cars I recomend putting Blue visions or silverstars in the High beam. they are both 4000 deg K. HID no matter the size or type don't like thermal cycling, shortens life.
raymond,
Where did you get the W5W bulbs, I'd like to get my hands on some.

E-wagon: [url]http://www.powerbulbs.co.uk/ - pkg arrived less than a weed from UK to Seattle. $53 US shipped per pair but you'll see that they will toss in the mini bulbs for free right now. I got two pairs, and replaced the H7s in the high beam reflector as well. Last night I drove around dark parts of town just for the heck of is, smiling. But I'm not satisfied yet. I want to replace the Depo projs with Hella units but will wait until I find one on HIDForum or HIDTech. Until I win the lotto (or live on mac n cheese for the next half year) I can't afford the HID route just yet.
