Hey, guys..just be clear (haha, no pun intended) that the lighting potential of the euro halogens such as Inpro, Autodynamics...Depo projector (low beam H7s) is lacking in coverage. I was disappointed and so far, have had to spend another $50+ just to get the Philips Blue Vision bulbs to boost the brightness. Prior to that, I tried the Sylv/Ostram Silverstars but was disappointed. Still, the projector bulbs themselves are the limiting factor, as mentioned previously by zam2000. The beam itself emits segments of beams, varying in intensity, so what you see projected in front of the car are about 4 different paths from each lamp - bright, alternating with dimmer beams.
So the next step is to replace the projector with Hella projectors and reuse the Blue Vision bulbs. Beyond that, HID retrofit if I'm still disatisfied, or OEM HID but I'll lack the clear lens so may not go that final route.
Ray,as someone also pointed out on the 'other' forum, you can play with the adjustment on the top of the light housing to obtain the best light projection in front of you. Have you done this???

Yup, the only thing that does is to blend the light upon the reflected surface at that given distance. It does little to modify the light as it is laid on the pavement. Where the stock light is even left to right, the Depo projected beam displays what I can best describe as 'pencil' beams, about 4 per side.
Hey, wait a minute, you have these too. You're not seeing this with yours? You and I may have purchased them from diff vendors but I figured (maybe wrongly) that the projector lens/housing were from same outfit.
I would have thought the projector upgrades were LHD/RHD specific - or is that adjustable on the car, as it were?
I'd like to get projector and/or HID on my E55 but all the sources I see here are from LHD countries and I can't find any UK specific RHD data. The British Hella site is... confusing!
To Ray,you're right, the beams are a lot more 'pointed',than the previous shells. I was hoping that from the outset they would've been set from the factory, but I found out through you guys that they had to be adjusted. but the compliments on them are considerable. These lights give a tremendous lift to the car. This guy just today passed by me with a E430,and I could see the guy in the passenger seat, looking back, and
eyeing the front of the car. For the record ,we traveled
the same route for a while, and his car was not updated... [}:)]
To StribsE320: from Ebay, and this place unspecifically:
Take your pick, they all seem to have the same price point, however,i would have them siliconed all the way
around the seal since they're notorious for having a leak there, and if you read the other posts from us on these, you'll see the water(condensation) in the lens right after the car wash.... [:(!]

Good eye, yes it is RHD, I got mine from mercedesperformance.co.uk ask for Chet. But I warn you, everyone out there is sick to death with the pathetic delivery of In-Pro. mine were ordered in march and I got them last month!!
Storm, your car looks really great, those headlights give our cars a real lift from their previous look. Where did you get the exhaust tips? Again,it looks marvelous!!!
Thanks man, i really appreciate it. Even cooler that we did the changes to our cars the same day!
As for the tips, its a Remus backbox for all the V6 210's (Remus Part number 508 597 0542). It costs a bit, but is well worth the sound[:0] and looks[8D]

I know what you mean, but on another page a member by the name of ZAM2000 gave some very cool advice as to how to rectify this problem (using 211 lenses). and the results looked really good on his car. I'm going to try this changeover as soon as i can get my hands on some 211 lenses. I HATE those 4 pencil beams!!!
So, E-Klasse, my '02 Sport model WOULD require the bumper be removed? I like the look, but already having HID's I think I'd pass on that if the bumper has to come off?
