Paktronic. Was it offered in the US/Can as an option?

Paktronic. Was it offered in the US/Can as an option?

I would love to add it to my wagon, as I find it very hard to judge where the rear end is. I would assume that it would not be too hard to install as MB seems to think ahead for certain items.

Does anyone know? I am thinking that I will probably have to contact Steve regarding the parts.

RE: Paktronic. Was it offered in the US/Can as an option?

I have a 98 e320 4matic with factory parktronic. It was and is available, but it is a very rare option. You can buy aftermarket systems on Ebay for @ $75. I don't know how good they perform though. I really like mine, it is really helpful in parking behind my other car in the driveway. Good luck.

Do you have front or rear or both?

I have seen a picture of the display in the wood in the dash. Is this display for both the front and rear?

RE: Paktronic. Was it offered in the US/Can as an option?

Parktronic is a VERY Rare Option!

Its a Option that could have been ordered front and rear or REAR only

I Installed Rear only Parktronic on my w210 Wagon
As I Cant see out of the rear windows..with two layers of Limo tint

You can buy the rear bumper insert..MUST be painted
You will need four sensors four sensor clips a harness control unit and two distance indicator light assy. The rear is working only when in reverse

The front requires the Bumper impact inserts be replaced..sensors.. wire harness..interior wood at the dash for parktronic and a Switch to turn on/off the parktronic in the console with another wood piece needed
Contact Steve @Mbenz.nl for great prices! all OE mercedes parts

RE: Paktronic. Was it offered in the US/Can as an option?

It only came from the factory as front and rear. The left front display being above the headlight switch, the right front display being in the middle above the radio, and the rear two are together right above the rear window in the middle and only come on when you shift into reverse and you view them thru the rear view mirror. There is a switch on the console next to the trunk opener. I have never seen another e class, excluding e55's,with this option. I just came upon this car at a lot and it was loaded with xenon's,rain sensors,4matic,orthopedic,alpine xm + cd in dash and changer, heated seats, '03 sport wheels, headlight washers, and traction control.

I don't think it was a North American option on the wagon anyway.
