Briefly about the car, it is 97 E320 very low mileage 34000miles right now...going by the book i changed transmission fluid at the dealer after 3,000 miles i encountered shifting problem just 5 days ago... it was not shifting from 3rd gear to 4th when you drive like normal... it was shifting when i was driving very very smoothly very slow... and eventually it stop shifting at all... so it stays on 3rd gear... i tow the car to the mechanic (certified one)... they did diagnostic and this is what they come up...he says he have to change the val body (don’t know the right spelling) apox.$800 plus it might not communicate with computer so then he have to change that too $900...so somebody else tells me that it is the circuit board which is common problem for those years models ... and has nothing to do with val body (by the way what is a val body??)...Please i don’t want to get ripped off... I went to the deal to complain they say it has nothing to do with fluid change... it might need just reprogramming cz of low mileage they say that car was sitting long time and now it is adjusting to my driving... is this make sense??? I don’t know ... just don’t want to get ripped off.. any advice would be great full thanksss...
