I have a '98 E320 wagon. The rear cupholders (center of the rear seat) have been gummed up by spilled soda (I suppose, they were sticky when I bought the car). I tried cleaning them, but have not been successful. Is it possible to remove the cup holder assembly so I can thoroughly wash it?
I believe the entire drawer in the armrest pulls straight out. From there, you can wash the whole thing. If memory serves me, just a strong tug should do it.
By that you mean, open it so the cup holder shows and then firmly, but gently tug? I'll give it a try. I'm always afraid I'll break some plastic clip or hook.
I yanked vigorously on the cup holder and it would not budge. I'm afraid of cracking the plastic. Does anyone know if there is some sort of catch to release?
The Emergency Kit is in a rear compartment (along with the CD player) on the passenger side.
I was thinking, is the wagon drawer different than the sedan version? This evening, if I get a chance, I will pull mine out of my sedan. I will try to take some pics too.
I was wrong, I went to try to pull my drawer out of the rear armrest. It did not just pull out. I will pull so far then it catches on some stops. I am going to open a new thread.
