The factory amp is in the trunk on the drivers side up near the trunk hinge. Take the molded carpet piece out of the well in the quarter panel and look up under the rear shelf on that side.

...thats IF the car has a premium sound system. otherwise there will be no amp.
(Sorry to keep posting after you E-Klasse, but I'm just helping clarify your point. I spent 2 days looking in one of my RHD 210's only to find out that I didn't have an amp in it.)
