Ever since I got my E280 I have noticed a rattling noise comming from under the driver side (right hand drive) whenever I accelerate with the wheel turned slightly either side. I had the front bearings checked,... nothing!
I sometimes thought it's the exhaust touching the body but I had it checked and nothing again.
Any suggestions? this noise is driving me crazy!!!
Sord of a muffled rattling,... like hitting the bottom of the exhaust pipe with a whiffle ball bat,.... more noticable INSIDE the car,.... very odd!
I had the same problem with my 1997 e320, but the noise disappeared after i changed my air mass sensor. Investigate to see if your air mass is operational.
