headlight question

I have some discoloration on the driver side headlight of my '97 E420. Can the lens be changed? or do I have to buy the whole unit?

Thanks,

Brian

RE: headlight question

Yes You CAN Buy The Lens...Look it up on the EPC
Also You Can Clean / Polish the Lens With Several Products with Great results
Without replacement

Do a Search on it...

RE: headlight question

Executor,

Over here we use alot of car wax and a little brasso liquid metal polish mixed in. Not reccommended for the faint hearted but it gives excellent results.

More realistically for your application use something like the plastic cleaner/ scratch remover that is used for the plastic windows in convertible cars.

Good luck with the scratches[8D]

RE: headlight question

Iphixit,

You can change the lenses, or change the whole light unit. Personally I'd change the whole unit, but if you are good at what you do AND (unlike me) have the time, try changing the lens.

worst case if you mess up you will just have to get a new light in the end.

Good Luck.[8D]

RE: headlight question

The brasso liquid acts like a cutting agent (abrasive),and the wax is like a lubricant so don't use alot of brasso.
