I bought a kit off the internet about a year ago to help with this problem. It is actually for repairing acrylic plastic. The kit comes with a sanding block and several different sandpaper pads of different grit. You use the courser sandpaper to get the scratches and hazing off and work your way down through the different grits and it works pretty good. I cant remember where I got it from, but it is a kit to repair an acrylic aquarium.
