The CLK setup will probably work and look great too.
For the front wheels, even if the lugs are slightly too long, there is nothing behind the front rotors to bind against. Fit one front wheel to test, make sure you have at least 6 full turns of each lug bolt. Offset should be fine.
For the rear, this is where if the lug bolt is too long, you will bind against the parking brake assembly.
Take you rear wheel off, take the stocklug bolt and push it thru one of the lug holes on the stock wheel, measure or take note how much thread is coming thru the back.
Now, take your CLK rear wheel, take the lug bolt that was used on the rear wheel, push is thru a lug hole and measure how much thread comes through. If the spacer was used in the back, then take the thickness of the spacer into account.
If things look good, meaning the threaded portion is similiar, then mount the rear wheel. Go slow, and tighten each lug by hand. With the wheel mounted and off of the ground, turn the rear wheel by hand to hear/feel if anything is binding with the parking brake assembly. If so, you will need to get different lug bolts. Good luck here, ball seat lug bolts are expensive and it is hard to find a good cross reference of the MBZ part number and the overall length.
You are lucky, at least you can test the wheels instead of taking someone else's word.

Hi! First-time poster! Really nice setup and choice of rims! I'm trying to do the same thing with a 2001 E430...but in a staggered setup. I have 18x8.5 for the front and 18x9.5 for the rear and my mom's old 7mm Lorinser spacers and lug nuts from her 2003 CLK500 from when she traded it in. My question is will they fit? Do I need to get more spacers or new lug nuts? I currently have 225/40's in the front and 265/35's in the rear. They were perfect on my mom's CLK500. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks!
