High Mileage

After spending over two hours last night reading past posts some questions remain:

. At what mileage would people become wary of owning a W210 Wagon. I will DIY service, brakes etc

. Are A + B Services the only routine services?

If it helps any I am moving from an '03 325i sedan (second in a row). Spending $15K on a 100k mile W210 is pretty tempting but I have little experience of buying used cars.

"If it is a wagon you must have,... a wagon you must buy."

Seriously though, I've had W210's since 1998 and I never get tired of mine. The best thing I'd sugget is buy a good one, then as time goes buy add some rims or something and then keep going. You'll never get bored.

As far as I know, YES A&B are the only routine services.

RE: High Mileage

I service my wifes very easy, well i think it is and i am used to doing Landrovers!.
I change the oil every 5000 miles auto gearbox oil+diff oil annually.
Only tool you will need is a socket to undo oil filter cap (similiar to BMWs).

RE: High Mileage

Thanks for the replies, still not sure if I can part with the BMW but am more tempted.

Landrovers are pretty easy to work on, but it depends how far you go. I had one when living in England:

That '79 Series III was bought used and the engine died one week later. Since then I have bought mainly new but am getting some courage back.

"selling mine. Listed at $19,500, but will consider any reasonable offer."

Good luck! I just sold my '99 E430 sport for less than $20,000 and it had similar miles and was also in perfect shape. I felt lucky to get what I did. These cars do not hold value at all. The low prices are good for someone wanting a 210 E but bad for current owners wanting to sell.
