Xenon bulb

Does anyone know the bulb size for the Xenon light system for a 2000 E 430 4Matic? Also does anyone know how to replace the xenon bulbs? The owners manual tells you go to the stealership to get it worked on, but i really don't feel like getting raped by them for something I should be able to do myself.

RE: Xenon bulb

A xenon bulb is a xenon bulb and not an H7. You can get your bulb from the stealership or from an online vendor. I get mine from these guys: 8007415252 Rusty's Parts. Give them a call and they can get the bulb you need at a better price than the stealership. You can change the bulb yourself.

The bulb usually does not go bad. The problem is usually the ignightor. Is it your passenger side xenon that is out? If so, these are known to go bad.

RE: Xenon bulb

The type of xenon bulb used is Type D2R. There are different Kelvin temperature colour of the bulb. You go to www.plasmagarage.com and it is rather informative on that web. Yes you can change the bulb yourself. It is so easy.Good luck.

RE: Xenon bulb

Yeah the passenger side bulb is not the same color as the driver side. The passenger side bulb turns pinkish after the light come up to temperature. I thought it was a system problem, but the dealer says its a blub problem.
