Darren:

What nav are you putting in? Sounds like you and I have the same project. I'm putting the Alpine NVE-852E system in. According to Sandro, it's the same wire that does the auto volume control in the factory radio--which makes total sense and I don't know why I didn't think of it. I probably won't be able to install my system for another week or so. So if you do yours first, let me know if that wire works!

Thanks,

Dana

I don't have a green/black wire in position one of the A radio harness. The stock radio which has the speed dependent volume control only has a gray, red/white, yellow/balck, blue/white and brown wire in that A radio harness block. Is the gray wire the VSS wire?

RE: Vehicle Speed Sensor location

Here is some cruise control wiring data:

Constant 12V+ Red Ignition Switch Harness or Use Hot Side of Brake

Switched 12V+ Pink/Red Ignition Switch Harness

Ground Use Chassis Near Cruise Control Module

Hot Side of Brake n/a Brake Switch

Cold Side of Brake Black/Red Brake Switch

Tach Green/Yellow Coil

VSS Lead Green/White Or Green/Black or Green/Yellow at Radio Harness

Notes: Vehicles with Manual Transmission require Clutch Switch. Some vehicles may require a speed signal generator and/or other parts/adapters not listed above. Rostra® Cruise module switch settings may differ if you use a speed signal generator or magnets and a pick up coil.
