| RE: Looking for an E320 4matic Wagon. Advice?
the 4matic system is absolutely wonderful, much better than quattro could ever be. thus far, our 2002 E has not had any problems whatsoever. maybe luck, i don't know. i thought the cracked dash's were on the 96-98 w210's. the crank failing was fixed by 2001(early 2002 model year). cats can go out on any car, its the supplier, not mercedes. motor mounts can go out, but seems unlikely. hell, as long as everything is under warranty...it's taken care of.
we did get the extended warranty, mainly because we plan on keeping the E around for a long time. i would say Starmark is worth the extra bit of money. and even if you don't go that route, any mercedes you get will have records, of all maintenance and repairs done, accessible at the dealership.
