12V power to glove box

As you may have seen, I did an aux install to my glove box. Now what I'd like to do is get 12V power in there so my Ipod can charge and avoid leaving wires to and from the cig lighter. Does anyone have any good ideas on how to do this? I wouldnt mind a cigarette style 12V outlet haning in the glove box, but I dont know where to draw it from. Thanks in advance!

You should be able to splice into the light, it is switched 12 volts.

But wouldn't that only be on when the glove box is open? And I'm not too sure if it's rated for the amperage an ipod would pull, correct?

I would think if you tap the wire that goes before the glovebox switch, it should work even the glovebox closed (no light).
When you turn the ignition key off, it should turn off the circuit.

Ipod does not take a lot of current (less than 500mA).

BtW, my R350 came with Aux Ipod and Aux input for external sound like DVD, MP3 etc...
