2007 CLK350 cabrio "Engage Driver's Seat"

The seat is locked. I've pulled the lever and put it back several times, been forceful with the seat. It's in a locked position! I read another post about a different year having this problem, but no solutions were mentioned. Can anyone help?

You mean the seat 'back' is locked?

Can you move the seat base forwards and backwards?

Wink Flipping the seatback forward is a Religion!

My passenger side seat back rest does the same thing on occasions... you have to develop a Ritual when flipping the seat forward... like

apply back pressure to the seat back before lifting up on the Lever, then flip the seatback forward... or some variation of that kind of Ritual!

Good Luck...

Seat back is locked

It is locked. I can't get the seat to move at all. I've unplugged it and plugged it back in. The only I haven't done is unhook the battery. I've tried everything. It just keeps saying "engage driver's seat."

I do not think that there is any electrical involvement in tilting the seat back forwards.

But if the release handle does not free the latch, yes it will stay locked in place. There must be a cable connection from the seat handle to this latch, but without taking lots of panels off, I cannot work out how it works.
