I recently bought a 2005 CLK320 C.P.O. with just under 40,000 miles on it. I have a question on how the car should feel.
In comparison driving several late model MB's my CLK feels far more nimble, than say a E class or even a C class. By nimble, I mean the steering is a little lighter, a little more responsive. Sometimes, I daresay it maybe even feels twitchy.
The car seems to be very sensitive to road crown. When I'm on the right lane of a crowned road I have to hold the wheel off center to the left by about an inch at top-center. If I let the wheel go, it will quickly will exit the road. Likewise, on the opposite side (a crowning to the left) it has the opposite afect, everything pulling left. This car seems to be more sensitive to this than most other cars I've driven.
I had the dealership do an alignment but it did nothing. Is this a CLK handlig trait, or is my car off in some adjustment?

For what it's worth the wheels are 17", staggered setup.
Quick thought & check... When I got the car I'd looked at my tire pressure and they were all similar and I thought that was good. I just looked at the door sticker and it recommends cold pressures at 28psi front, and 29psi rear. Mine were all 30-31psi. I set to spec and will see how it feels tomorrow.

I don't think that you need worry about the lightness of your steering - mine is like that and I like it that way.
I have not experience what you say about the crowned road effect - but our roads in UK tend not to have much crown anyway. I'll leave US owners to comment on that aspect.
One point - what is the condition of your treads. Even wear all around? For what it's worth, I have always run all my pressures at 30psi.
My treads are fine. The tires are new. The car feels fairly similar but a little more stable - it's not bad at all. I think the uneasiness I felt may have been due to the road I was on (steep crown to both sides).
