Angry Sunroof Problems!!

I have 2004 CLK... I one push the Sunroof button forward - the Roof piece starts sliding forward then all sudden stops and starts sliding backwards! same thing happen when I try closing the roof with my key! All the windows close but sunroof re opens up I just cant figure it out In order for me to close the sunroof completely... I must hold down the button until it shuts. Does the sunroof close on one touch?

Oh ya Does the back window roll up one touch like the front ones do?

Hi,
Try restting the sunroof ussing the following method:

1- Open the sunroof

2- Turn the ignition key off

3- Wait dor roughly 30 seconds

4- Move ignition key to position 2

5- Press the button up "To open it from behind"

6- if necessary push down hard that useless black metal "Beware not to close on your figures"

7- After it opens up from behind release and press up again for 2 seconds

8- You will hear "Tick" then the ECU will learn that the end on that position

9- Now close it normally

I know exactly what this is. I just had this issue fixed. It seems that over the course of a 5 years or a bit less these sun roof gets grim and dirt build up. So you just have to clean it out very good and you should be good for another few years. I actually took mine in and it was done and they charged me next to nothing to do it.

It was happening to me too. Clean the tracks with a paper towel, then relubricate it. I didn't have any grease, so I used WD-40. Hold the button to run it back and forth past the point where it would get stuck. Mine's been fine since.

Also to double check, resynch it in case the power was lost. Just press the button to close it and hold the button shut for at least 2 seconds.
