new here, hello!

Hi all, newbie here!

I just bought a (US spec) 2005 CLK 320 w/ 28,000 miles. I got it CPO from a new and huge dealership south of Miami called M-B of Cutler Bay. It came with an extra year warranty and I bought one more year. Anyhow, I dont really know too much about the car or its options as I dont have the manuals. They are working on getting me some, but in the meantime I'd like to hear from you.

It is pretty much a standard US spec car. It does have the Harmon/Kardon system which I was told was an option. (It has a Surround mode in the audio adjust.) and it says Harmon/Kardon on one of the rear deck speakers (only one, what's up w/ that?). There is a 6 disc CD changer in the gloove box too. I'd love to get satellite radio and ipod in the car, but I dont know what my options are. I havnt found an input jack anywhere but have read here and there that it has one.

It also has keyless entry and start. What is the M-B term for that? Anyway, it's one of the things I like best about it. Just leave the key in my pocket.

That's that. Happy motoring!
-Matt

Please advise

I've learned a lot from this site (THANKS!) but what I dont know and seem to get conflicting data from is what I have optioned, and what came standard on the car.

I'm sure the Keyless Go was an option. I thought the H/K system was an option, but then I've read it was standard. Do you all know? My audio options aside from bass & treble include Speech and Surround. Is that an indicator?

I also have a 6 disk changer but cannot find an aux input jack. Advice is welcome, please!

Thanks!

Oh, here's some pics!

lack of info

Clean looking ride! Good luck on prying any info from this site unless you want to debate what wax to use!
Look at the intro for new members......replies are very scarce.
It seems most don't get involved in the car or the site, at least when it comes to the 209's.
My guess is most don't do much of anything on their cars themselves. I recently got an 07 550 convertible and looked for info on wheels and tires, the response was less than you are getting! (at least I responded to your post!) I also have a brand new set of oem bi-xenon headlight assemblies that I want to install. I can't find any info on them for a CLK. If you find another site that has better versed members , don't hold back!
And as for your radio situation I don't know if the 05s have a hookup point for the ipod, if it does you might have to pull the radio and plug in a MB adapter and route it to the glove box. and I think sat is another MB add on module. Best bet is talk to one of the service reps at the dealer or the parts guys. I have had good luck with one of the service guys in MB of south Orlando. I just started talking to him about things on the car and asked some questions about helping me out with info to do some things myself and he was very helpful.
Good luck! Tom

Thanks Tom!

I am a member of miata.net which has always been one of the BEST forums for getting replies. Pretty mature ones too. I think I've been spoiled.

This forum has a ton of info in it too however. It just takes a lot of digging.

I'm going to speak to my service guy as you suggested. That may be the most direct (and $) route, but I'll get some results!

Congrats on the 550!

I never post but figured I'll give you some info. I had a 2002 CLK55 coupe and currently have a 2004 CLK500 cab.

The 04 500 is equipped with:

navigation/heated and vetilated seats/multi-contour seats/parktronics/cd changer/xenon lights/mb phone

The 500 comes standard with the AMG sport package that has different bumpers, side skirts, and wheels. I also have sirius satellite radio added.

Now you have something to compare your car to.

Gee, thanks! I guess I could talk of my fuel economy? But compared to that who cares? LOL! Thanks for posting (great ride!) - we need to get talkative over here!

If you post your VIN reference here we can look up the details of how your car was built. That does not cover anything added later of course, but it's a good place to start.

It should be on a vertical label on the driver's doorframe, plus other places.
