Does anyone know how easy it is to replace the mirror glass in the driver-side mirror? Moisture (or something) seems to have got behind the glass and is slowly "bubbling off" the auto dipping coating. I don't want to book the car in with my dealer at their rates and be without the car if it is a simple (i.e. no special tools) job. Car is out of warranty and I guess I could claim a manufacturing defect of some kind, but if it's an easy DIY job, then why not?
Would you believe that the cost of the replacement glass (a double-glazed affair, with the dipping element activated by an electrical current) costs GBP 185.04 - ex tax! Possibly the most expensive piece of mirror glass ever.
