I bought the cable harness (part no. A210 440 50 05) which connects to a plug in the passenger footwell and terminates in the glovebox.
Pressing CDC on the Audio 20 makes the Aux input active, whatever I plug into the glovebox socket now plays through the car speakers. Mp3 player or my portable DVD player, both of which sound great. All parts cost £20 & fitted in 15 minutes.
Russ, that sounds interesting for listening to Mp3, but-
1) I don't see a connector in my passenger footwell. Do you have to remove that black plastic cover under the glovebox to reveal it? The one held in place by 2 Torq screws?
2) My glovebox already holds the 7 CD cartidge. So where would a connector go?
3) I've got COMAND, and there is no AUX button to press. Maybe something else? I have a choice of Tel, Nav. FM/AM, TV, CD, Sys.

I don't think 2004 models have this, mine is 2005. But for anyone else.....
1. You need to pull back the black plastic strip on the door sill that runs parallel with the seat and is only visible with the door open. There is a cable track under this with a white connector for the Aux Input of the Audio 20. You need to remove the plastic panel the the front of this ( one screw and a few clips , this is easily broken so take care ), to allow the cable to run up to the glovebox. The end panel off the glovebox unclips and there is a circle that pops out to allow the MP3 connector to be fitted. This was originally a factory option so all the hard work has been done for you.
2. The mp3 connection terminates on the opposite side of the CD holder, so it does not have to be disturbed.
3. I assume a 2005 model with COMAND will have the Aux option. The fact that yours does not is probably because it is a 2004 and is simply not available.
I have an 04 CLK 500 with COMAND. You should have a key labeled SVC. Press that, then settings, then you'll see the AUX button. I listen to my iPod connected to the jack in the glove box with a long-ish cable that I run under the dash so I can control the iPod right in front of me. This, of course, does not offer iPod integration, nor does it charge the iPod as the integration kit would, but I'll save the several hundred dollars, thank you, and control it myself.

I have an 03 clk 500, and i have the cd changer in the glove box. Anybody know if there is a way to discount the cd changer and use the wires from the changer to hook up an Ipod? I would think this should work, but looks like a kit os splicing would need to be done. anyone have an idea or done this before?

I would be extremely interested to hear from anybody that has figured this out. Splicing into the CD changer cable for an AUX input was very popular in pre-02 Porsches.
