2002 911 Cabrio or 2003 clk500 or 2002 m3 convertible

Hello All,
I'm brand new to the forum. Although I've been reading alot.

I've been a GM owner all my life mainly because my father works for them & I used to get sucked in to all the rebates & discounts. This year I think I'm going to get rid of my gm vehicles and buy international. Gm has gotten much better over the years but internationl autos have always been ahead.
I'm looking for something thats fun, has decent power, and is pretty reliable.

I've narrowed my choice to:

02 911 cabrio
02 M3 Vert
03 CLK 500

I currently drive an 02 Vette Convert. & 04 GTO.
I love the vette, but fit & finish isnt exactly there and maybe the new c6 is but im leaning more towards a 2+2 vert.

The gto is nice but it could be much much better.

So Im going to trade both in on a euro vert & euro suv. Euro vehicles seem to have so much more style.

Thank you for all your suggestions.
TJ

Well, if you are looking for 2+2 convertible, 911 is out of the picture. From there on, you have M3 (333Hp) that is good in handling, and CLK (302Hp) that's good in cruising. Any of these 3 would be an excellent choice. :) Good luck and welcome.

i would say 2004 CLK500 ..... i had a 2002 M3, it's fun car to drive, but the interior is kinda shitty, the seats arnt that great, benz is the better way to go, i have a 2005 CLK500 Convertable, i would take that over a m3 anyday

Thanks guys. Although I'm curious as to why the 911 would be out of the picture??? It still has 4 seats although I think the back seats are kinda small buts thats basically for any convertible.

You're right on the interior of the m3 its alot more sporty than luxury but than it is more of a sports car.

I think the clk might be the best choice. This weekend i'm going to drive them and let you know my thoughts.

If anyone has any other suggestions or comments feel free to post.

Thanks again

Sorry, I thought 911 was 2 seater. Didn't know it was 4 seater. But if you compare the rear seat of 911 with the other two on your list, they're probably made for kids.

...if they keep there legs up. :)
These seats are very small and if top is up...

But Mercedes and BMW do have real ones. Bimmer probably has more head room, as I remember.

TJ,

I just wrestled with the same choice and ultimately bought a designo edition 2004 CLK500 cabrio. The back seats of the CLK are signifcantly roomier than the M3. Small adults can fit in the benz, but the M3 would have been tight for my 6 and 8 year old boys. Forget about the back seat in the 911 - it's for your briefcase. The M3 is much sportier with better aceleration and handling, but the CLK is classier with a softer, but still responsive, ride. The CLK has more than enough power for me, but speed freaks probably find it lacking. The CLK is far better looking and has a far nicer interior than the M3, IMO.
