2004 Cracked 3rd brake light

Does anyone know the procedure to replace the trunk mounted (third brake light)red lens? Mine has cracked into many pieces. 2004 CLK Cabriolet. Thanks

I once heard of someone getting that replaced for free under warranty. YOu may wanna try that. Here's a thread about fixing it under warranty:

The 3rd brake light cracked on my 2004 CLK500. When I took the vehicle in for Service A at 13k miles, my service advisor noticed it and said it was the third CLK that had come in with the same problem -- swapped it for a new one at no charge. Appears to be a mfging defect. Try getting your dealer to fix it gratis.

Just had the CLK in for its first service. Dealer replaced the cracked brake light at no charge with no questions asked. Also replaced the battery at n/c as he said it was meeting spec.Total mileage 10,500.

Thats a common problem... So far ive replaced 3 of them and now the forth is starting to crack. [xx(] But on the bright side my service manager has replaced it for free everytime [:D]

I have already replaced 3X the 3rd brake light.
Two times under guarantee, third time I must pay it [:(]

Hey mine cracked also! the dealer wont replace mine... does anyone what is causing it to crack?? and where can i order one online? or is someone able to get a extra one? ill gladly pay you for it! thanks again
