aaaarrrrgh Bloody Top Is Annoying Me..time for a whinge

Family just got CLK Cabriolet its a wonderful car except the soft top. Its tempermental to say the least.

Its just ticked over 1000km and already the soft top has failed us twice. Its bloody frustrating!

Anyone had the problem. The first time it wouldn't go up we had to go to the dealer to get it fixed. The second time, I was driving when it suddenly began to drizzle, the car was parked so i immediately began to try and close it, lho and behold the "Visit Workshop" Sign came on....so here i am completely drenched racing to get home for the comfort of my garage. Quickly got some towels to dry the interior and leather seats. My sister started the car again and all of the sudden the top works.

What the heck is the point for having a top that only works occasionally!!!!

This is not the first time one of the new Benzes stuffed up on us. We have an S Class who's battery blew up while my mum and I were getting the groceries. Talk about a close call. Sulphuric acid fumes going all over the place. Mercedes seriously needs to check its quality control.

Cheers

Jon

I agree!

I agree mate! 1700kms on my CLK so far.....and i have had a faulty external mirror...which would not automatically fold down on reverse ( called "convenience" feature by MB !!). My front passenger seat wouldn't fold forward automatically on trying to get to rear seat. There is a loudish sound coming from the alternator. At times the CD changer goes in a randomn scan. Just add all the trips to MB so far. I don't think that anybody has beaten the Japanese in electronics quality control, relatively speaking. One can't still help loving one's Merc. though!! If MB doesn't address these issues soon...the picture might change though!

Cheers
