I ordered one for myself recently and was debating on what size rims I should get for mine too. I am leaning torwds the 19inch rims but not sure if I want to put spacers on that would be needed for the 19s to fit.

Body kit and rims

First things first. Put on the amg or lorinser body kit because no offense, mercedes has never sold a clk320 that looked sporty. Also, get some lwoering springs that will lower the car to slightly eliminate the fender gap. Bi xenon headlighs are also good. the only amg 18's that will fit ocrrectly at this point is the monoblocks. If you put on 19's, you will crack your rims, guranteed. Stick with amg 17s to be safe, or you could buy lorinser replicas on ebay for about 1400 which are good. Next order of business, while you are at the body shop getting the body kit put on, get the chrome window trim painted black to give the car a sportier look. Xenon lights in the foglights wouldn't hurt either. Personally I like eisenmann exhaust but I dont know if they have a system for the 209 yet. Since you ahve a black car, chrome rims are always nice. Of course, this will cost you a fortune but I did something like this to my 98 320 which I am keeping as a car for my son, and my 98 320 now looks like something out of 2002. ALSO, sport badges on fenders and a lorinser roof and decklid spoiler would be nice.

You can check ebay for the replicas but since your driving a benz you should get the real deal. I know that in Taiwan they sell the replicas for about 150 per rim, but it is the replica which is a lot heavier. I got a quote from wheelsexperts.com for 3,900 for the 19 inch Lorinser LM5, I'm sure the 18s would be less expensive.

nobody notices lorinser replicas

nobody notices lorinser replicas because they look original. However, they are heavier, which is good with low profile tires because not only are they less expensive, but, there is less of a chance they will crack. Also, you wont want to kill yourself when you get curb rash on the replicas.
