Interior Room?

Hi! I am new to the boards here, and am really enjoying reading all the posts.

I just have a small qustion. How does the interior room of the CLK compare to the c-class, both the front and back, and even the boot/trunk (whatever you call it where you are lol). I was under the impression that the leg room in the CLK in the rear is about the same as the C. Anyone have any of the stats and dimensions or even personal oppinions.

Thanks

Which CLK ? The new one or old one ?

I have the W208 CLK and legroom in the rear is pretty good for a coupe, comparable to the C class. Most likely because they are built on the same platform.

I haven't checked the interior of the new CLK yet so can't compare.

The new one!

Have any of you guys stumbled accross some reviews of the vehicle. I am particularly interested in the ride comfort and refinement of the vehicle (as a luxury car as oppose to a sport car) in comparison to the c-class.

Thanks

Superb front head and leg room

I bought a 2003 CLK320 about four weeks ago. I'm 6'7", and i must give MB an A+ for front head and leg room. I sit perfect. Typically i have problem with headroom, but this is one of the best i ever experienced. With the seat all down, you sit quite low in the vehicle though.

The was another question about the ride.
Its very smooth. Never driven the new C-class, but given its on the same platform, I'm sure its very similar. Its clearly not a sports car, but more of a luxury ride.

MB done a great job on the pillarless windows. I had a 300CE (also pillarless) 10-15 years ago, and in this new one there is absolutely no wind noice in the seam between front and rear window.

Black / Stone

Britton,

My Car is Black with Stone interior. A Colleague at work has the old CLK430 in Opal, and i think its the best looking color of them all. I wanted a tan interior, and Opal really only goes with gray, hence i went with the Black. Both the Stone and Ash interior is very light though, so its high maintenance to keep clean. My wife has a 320ML with ash interior, and its much darker.

How do a like it. It drives great. Quiet, smooth, but still great road feel. Feels rock solid. Interior looks fantastic, layout, materials, and space. Air vents are a tad noisy, but there is hot (100F) where i live.

From the inside when i'm driving it .... i like everything i see and feel.

The only thing i'm not 100% convinced on yet is the exterior looks. Its surprisingly spacious inside, which probably made it a bit high outside. Its a lot of fender above the rear wheel arc, which could have been done better. As the car is not as sleek i would like it, going with a dark color is probaly the right choice. Light colors tends to make a car look bigger. I'm thinking putting a set of 18" AMG wheels on which should make it look much better.

Would i buy it a again ........ yes.

Have fun with your new car, Johan

Johan
Thank you for the information about the car. I
might change the interior color to charcoal but not sure it will look good with the black opal. I think ash is the best choice. Like I said earlier your car looks great. I like the body style and the interior of the 2003 clk 320.
