Unhappy Headrest stay upward position. Please help =(

Hello all, I was playing with my passenger headrest button and suddenly it stopped working. It now stays in the highest up position. When I press down, it does nothing, when i press up, i hear a click on the headrest but still nothing.

Weird thing is.. when i push the lever to fold the seat up, the headrest then goes to the lowest down position then when I push the seat back, it will retract back to the highest position.

I think that the motor is fine as it works when the seats are folded back/forth but it is the button that is not responding. I dont think it is a fuse as I hear the click sound on the headrest when i press the button.

Anyone... please help..!! its driving me crazy

Same problem, I'm going to the dealer on Monday with the possible leaky radiator to the transmission issue (( so I will ask about it.

What worked for me was, turn on the ignition, press down,, it would move maybe 1/2 inch then stop. Turn off and back on the ignition, move another 1/2 etc... until I got the proper position. Someone mentioned that there was a problem with the connectors in the doors. Someone else that there was some software error and the dealer cleared it and all was back to normal.

Are you referring to the bad headrest or the radiator / trans leak?

I have the same problem.

However I found a solution... sort of...

Put the seat down like you were going to enter the back seats
so the head rest will go all the way down then, hold the head rest
with your hand and make sure it does not go back up when you return
the seat to its normal position. then leave it there...

I had the same problem with my clk500 2003. Went to a MB workshop and they changed the motor without succes. Then they connected the computer and mingled for a while and - suddently - the head rest could beoperated down. Now - 3 monthe later - it doesnt work again. Monday I will go to the shop again asking them to fix it. WITHOUT ANY PAY. Seems to be computerproblem, so I dont want to use a hammer or like to fix it.

Thage
