Gas & Temp gauges bar

It seems to me that the design of the gas gauge is backwards. The solid portion indicates the area that isn't being used, whereas the non-solid portion indicates the items actual setting. Being used to computers for so long I am used to a solid bar indicating the items setting. Did this throw anyone off? Is there any way to adjust it? Or do you get used to it?

I'm so used to it now, so it does not bother me anymore. When I bought the vehicle it was throwing me off and I have to keep telling myself it's fliped.

So I guess there's no way to adjust it, either stock or aftermarket?

What do you mean flipped? Mine is dark when full, light when not. It's like a glass of Coke.

Question White is Full... Black is Empty !!!

Mine is flipped... Full when light, Empty is dark... 2006 CLK 350

Yes, took me a while to train the ole Gray matter ... but still, one in a while, I have to think about it!

I would like to reverse it... is there a Geek out there who can tell us?

Good Luck...

ps. I think this maybe a Cultural thing!

Did MB revese it at some point? My car shows black LED's when the tank is full. They go out, leaving an empty white space when empty. It's a 2005 CLK320.
