Hi ,
I am new to this forum and MB. We just bought a 2006 CLK 350. I live in a very hot climate, when the AC is on high the cooling fan sounds like a jet engine. Is this normal? There is no cooling issue and the air works great!
It's normal I was complaining to 2 different MB dealer about it and I did complain to all my freind that own MB. They all look at me like I never own a MB.
My freind that's a ex mechanic said it's sounded like a freight train passing thru and working 120%. I'm still not used to that noise yet and I had my CLK since last October
I live in a pretty cool climate so I never have the fan switch more than 1/3 way up.... I did turn it up all the way once, and it is LOUD like a wind tunnel.
The problem is one of the Law of Physics... trying to push a large volume of air through a small passage of duct... so you have two choices: be cool and noisy OR hot and quiet.
Oh, there is another solution... sell the CLK and buy a E-class as it has bigger air ducts and A.C sounds quieter.
