How does the headrest come off the seat??? I raise it all the way to the top and cannot find any hidden button on the back side of the seat or a paper clip hole at the base of the headrest rails to push and release the headrest.
I need to put on seat covers and the headrest is stopping me!
"Pull the headrest out. This is easiest done if you raise the headrest to its highest position, recline the seat back to its lowest position, and then smack the headrest with your hand. Once out, spread the legs then reinstall. This usually resolves the noise."
Yep - ive had mine off as it was havng the heebie jeebies purring quietly up and down like the proverbial whxxx's drxxx's. I just pulled it right out and then stuffed it back in again. Its cured the up and down stuff.
As it turns out the 2006 year has active head restraints so they will not come off the seats as there are wires going up to the solenoid. You have to remove the back panel and disconnect stuff to take off the head rest.
Once I get some more moral support, I will give it a try and let you all know.
Maybe someone has a procedure what to do inside the seat back to get the head rest to pop off?
