04 CLK 320 Cab heated/cooled seats

Hi all,

a quick question for all you knowledgeable folks. I was wondering are all seats pre-wired for heated seats? Mine currently does not have heated seats or at least the switches for heated seats do not appear on my console. Is this a simple task of obtaining the switches and wiring or will I need to replace the seats all together. Any help and or guidance would be appreciated.
Thanks

Hi,

my understanding is that the wiring harness is usually the same for most cars nowadays, i.e., the connections are there even if the accessories are not. If that is the case in the CLK, then it should be easy to buy and fit the switches in the dash. The connections for the seats will probably be in the cable track that runs along the sills. The standard seats will not have the heat pads fitted though, replacement seats would be required or the existing seat fabric removed to fit heat pads. There are places in the UK who fit heated seats to all makes of cars, so some sort of universal kit must be available. If anyone else has fitted heated seats they may share their knowledge.

W209 seats are NOT Prewired for options .

Heated seats have Two Pads per seat ...that are sewn to the Seat cushion
For Ventilated seats the seat covers are different and the seat back is different as the cooling fans are secured to the seat back frame

The Seats can be Upgraded to heat/Ventilated and Multicontour

Its Best to locate a set of COMPLETE Upgraded seats to swap out rather than Upgrade to heat only

I Bought a Complete new Interior With Heated / Ventilated / Multicontour Front seats in Two Tone for our 209 for a Lot less than Modding the old seats
