Dual exhaust tips and tire size

I have a '03 CLK500 Sport. Can I have a dual exhaust tip instead of my single oval? Also what is the largest width rear tire size that will fit correctly on the stock 17' AMG wheel.

Thanks,
Randall

Yes you can fit a dual exhaust,I put the AMG dual exhaust on mine, the only problem is you have ammend you bumper to fit the exhaust, in order for it not to hang low as i've seen in some pictures in this forum. The AMG exhaust comes with a special cut-out form which you place on the bumper and it has lines on it which show you where to cut the bumper. It's only about a cm from each side of the existing exhaust cutout. You'd have to take it to a specialist to do it, those that fix crashed cars would know best.

I was actually referring to just a dual tip on the exhaust I already have. Thanks for the reply.

RE: Dual exhaust tips and tire size

Hi there,

I have just fitted a Remus rear box to my '500 and it is fantastic ! Cost me about $ 500.00 as well so as it is stainless its great value as well. It makes the car ( at last ! ) sound like it always should have, a V8 but not too loud. Cant reccomend it enough ! I also fitted the sport drilled discs to the car at the same time, dont beleive what the dealers tell you, they are exacly the same size as the original units ( and here in the UK only $ 10.00 more expensive ) Work great and look fantastic !

Do you recall what Remus part number was placed on your vehicle? Any pics? How wide are each of the exhaust pipes?
