I have a 04 CLK 500 and saw pics of the new (05) AMG car and was wondering without cutting the floor of the car out, will it fit my car, and if anyone has any idea what MB is getting for this ,I tried my local dealer (MB of Princeton) and they could not even pull up a picture or part # on their system .Any info would be helpfull.
It can be done but with a lot of manipulation and hard labour. MB Australia have given me a quote for AU$12000/-...something like US$9-10000/-. A friend on another forum got it done in AMG factory for Euro 7000/- ( US$10-11000/-).. it involved cutting out the undersurface of the trunk etc. AMG is not providing any schematics to anyone....as they do not authorize anyone to retrofit these.
Bottom line....I don't think it's practical...but like everything else, it can be done. One thing is for sure.... quadexhaust looks awesome.
There is hope though if you are still keen. Carlsson offer quadexhausts tailored for all W209 models...with or without catalytic convertors (...which is said to give you additional 25-40hp). Little cheaper. Excellent feedback about sound or performance. Does not involve cutting out existing body parts except the rear bumper. Even the schematics are available on line..if you are interested. I just like the shape of the AMG tips better so have not opted for Carlsson ......yet!
Thanks for the response .So the AMG "Dual" exhaust retrofit does not seem like its gonna happen any time soon.Looks like we will need to fab one up ourselves (I am not kidding this is what our company does) when completed I will post photos (approx 2 weeks from now)
