2004 CLK500 Custom Audio

I just purchased a 2004 CLK500 and was wondering if anyone has had any custom audio work done on a 2003 or 2004 CLK. I have a very extensive custom Audio / Nav system that was in my old car that I was going to have installed in the CLK, but I have run across a few issues and was wondering if anyone else has had any custom audio work done on a new CLK. The first issue I ran in to was the fact that none of the shops in my are have ever seen a 2004 CLK much less installed anything in one. The second issue is that is seems the head unit / deck is tightly integrated with the rest of the car. So with that said, no one is willing to mess with it since they do not know if it will damage any of the computer components or car functionality, and frankly I don't want them to. So any input would be appreciated. [:(]

as for the bOse system, yes the stock head unit, amplifiers and speakers are integrated. My advice is if you are intersted in clean quality sound, you won't want to try to integrate any of that Bose junk in your new system. Just have the installers remove the head unit and disconnect the amplifers.

but a new head unit, amplifiers and speakers.

Custom audio

I had CarToys retrofit a new Comand with TV Tuner and Sirius satellite radio in my 2004 CLK. Thet did an incredible job with all antennas (4 TV, GPS and Satellite) hidden from view. Installation better than factory, clean and perfect. Installation costs less than $550.00

CLK 200K 2003.
Check this out mate.
No problem at all. The only thing you have to do is to find a 2 DIN dash kit from the local ice store and you are ready to go.[;)]

I have a 2003 CLK55 with the Bose system. No highs, no lows..must be Bose! I really don't feel comfortable messing with the headunit. I plan on having a shop near me add an amp and a sub in the trunk.
