I FIGURED IT OUT!!!!

Well the manual has directions to reset it, but if you follow those directions it doesn't work. So here it is...pretty much the same thing but with a slight modifications.

1. Turn key to position 2. (That's the furthest you can go without starting the car)

2. Press 0 button twice and then press third time and hold.

3. While still holding 0 button, return key to position 0 and then back to position 2.

4. Keep holding 0 button in position 2 for about 10 seconds and 10000 miles should show up!!!

By the way, I have a 98' CLK 320

Reset procedure

Make sure you are in your car with the door closed. Sounds stupid but will not reset with it open.

The reset sequence that I use is basically the same:

-Key position 2
-Press "0" untill Maint display shows
-Key off
-Press "0" and hold
-Turn key to position 2
-Keep on holding "0" until you hear beep and display resets.

This has worked for me on all FSS clusters.

this is what happens

okay this is what is currently happening

on the fss display it reads "service due now"

I put the key to the "2" position
press the "0" twice and then on the third time i hold and it makes a beep sound

switch key to 0 position then back to the 2 position while holdeing down the "0"
display still reads "service due now"
im holding it down for atleast 10 secs and the doors are closed

sometimes i get a display that reads something like oil level check?

all i want to do is reset the darn fss

hmmm....

well I just tried it again on my car and it worked. So try this.

1. Get in your car and close door.

2. Your cluster should read whatever the odometer says.

3. Put key in position 2 and push 0 button twice. (This is when it should say "Service now").

4. Press 0 key again and hold.

5. Return key to position 0 (keep it there for 1 sec) while holding 0 button then return to position 2.

6. Wait about 10 seconds while holding button 0 and it should beep and say "Service in 10000" (That is the only beep I hear when performing this)

RE: reseting service light how to?

Alright, I'm getting a bit frustrated with this...

I'm doing everything they say (door closed as well) and I get no beep / no reset.

All the display ever says is "maintenance due now." Anyone else have this problem or know a fix?

THANKS!

Go to Autozone or Advanced Auto Parts and they will do it for free.

I remember having a lot of trouble too. You have to get the sequence perfect. Took me awhile.

I'll be doing the same thing soon...when referring to "Press 0", are you talking about on the radio number pad?
