care for convertible top

I am new to the group. Just traded in a SLK for a CLK 320 white with black convertible top.
Would someone please advise as how to best maintain the top?
I live near the ocean and won't be able to garage my car.

I have requested advice on this myself with little luck. I know the owner manual says wash with water and spot clean here and there. This probably will not be enough. I did some prowling on a Porsche Boxster site and those guys swear by a Porsche brand product for soft tops and Raggtopp ( www.raggtopp.com ). I have not tried either product yet, but will do so soon.

www.raggtopp.com does not work anymore. Try www.shadetreeonline.com and search for raggtopp, which comes as a cleaner and protectant.
