Rim width question

Thought I'd post this here too...

Do you guys think using an 18x7.5 rim on a CLK would look OK or will it look too skinny? Would 225/40/18 size tires fit on this rim?

The rim width of a 7.5" would be fine with the tires you are asking about. However, the back wheel sit further in the wheelwell where as the factory AMG wheel is about an 8.5". I would try to get a wider wheel if possible. The car can accept up too a 10" width with few clearance issues.
