Smart cable for Sony black panel radio to use steering wheel controls
I have purchased a Sony black panel radio/cd for my 2000 CLK, unfortunately the steering wheel controls now do not control the radio, I believe you can get smart cables to connect the Radio to the wheel, does anyone know where I might get one?
On most cars you can do this, however since those buttons on the MB are controlled by the (more)
interior CAN Bus, I do not think the after market IR smart button units will work. Usually you hook up the after market smart button unit to the wirs at the back of the radio that come from the sterring wheel buttons. On the Mercedes however, the wires are controled by the interior CANBUS and prob. wont send anything that the smart units will understand. If you get it working though, let us know please.
