with new lowering springs do i need new shocks?
Hello, <br> <br> I ordered the H&R springs for my 430. I think he said it was 1.2 front 1.4 rear, Anyway should i replace the shocks as well? The car has 47,000 miles.<br> <br> Also any sugestion on shocks would be wonderful.<br> <br> Thanks<br> Shawn

Factory shocks are not designed to ride at a lower height, or with a seperate spring.
If you have 47,000 miles on your shocks, your shocks would be softer than a less driven car. Most likely, your shocks would go out, or your car's handling wouldn't perform properly.

Yes, Bilstein sport shock are for lowering spring

Bilstein "SPORT" shock are the only shock that i know of, that are made 1 in. shorter....
<br> any other shock to compensated with the shorter spring. The Heavy Duty and standard Bilstein shock are made standard size.

The size wouldn't matter though. It's the valving inside them, and it's ability to adapt to the height.

I think he meant that the standard valve length inside the shocks are for OE and HD shocks...
SPORT shocks have 1' shorter valve length, which will alleviate the bottoming out problems, etc.<br>
