My dad is looking to get either one. THere is a black on charcoal 55amg sitting at our dealer ready to sold so i am trying to convince him to go with the 55. What are the main differences btw the 2 and is the ride harsher on the 55? Is the acceleration that much better? Thanks for any input.
55 or 430? Go and drive booth. A 430 might not be to your liking and a 320 might be ideal.

As for handling, neither are that great. While the 55 is better than the 430, you're better off changing your suspension. If you were to change your suspension, as far as handling is concerned, the 430 would be better due to it being 150lbs less in front (engine). The 55 accelerates and brakes much better than the 430, both of which could be changed. I myself am getting Brembo brakes, which would the stopping time of a 55 seem like a bus. I'm sure the ride is harsher on a 55 due to the thicker swaybars, and slightly stiffer springs, but I doubt it's too harsh. <br> As Karl said, you've got to drive the cars before you decide.
Thanks for the advice. My dad test drove both and went with the 55. We picked it up today. It's a beautiful car. One question do all the door sills says Mercedes-Benz V8?
