Our local MB dealer has a 2001 CLK-430 Cabriolet that has peaked my interest as a possible Xmas/Bday present for my wife. MSRP is approx 66k....and the dealer says in big cities they are getting 10k over MSRP...therefore a MSRP deal is a good deal....comments???
Sticker price is pretty good deal on these. most dealers try to stay at sticker on new cars and MB expects them to.
Often you will see a 'used' model with almost no miles selling for $ 10K over.
Most people trade a wait for the opportunity buy at sticker. If you don't have to wait maybe it's a good deal or a sign that the market is softening
That would be pretty unusual, as it's December of 02..but it may be, depending on your part of the country. Don't know exactly where you are, but the ridiculous money days on CLK cabs are gone. They are still very strong, but the days of driving one a year or so and coming out are over. I'll happily sell you my 02 (not 01)with no options for well less than $66k, as I'm sure others would. Be careful here. Email me if you want more insight. allen.
