A friend of mine had the E55 and found it not as impressive as he thought it would be in the corners. He felt it was too sedan like.

It totally depends on what you want out of it.

He now owns a Porsche Cabriolet and his wife is PO'd cause with two kids its too small!

1. I don't like the E55 interior that much.
2. I don't need to seat 3 people in the back.
3. I prefer coupes than sedans.
4. I love the contours of the CLK.
5. I have an E420 as well and that's good enough for me

;-))

gk.un.org
They are so different, so it really depends on what you need. The CLK looks a hell of alot cooler, however, if you are the primary driver for more than 2 people you might think about the E55. However, don't buy the CLK55 thinking you are buying a sports car. It's a sports coupe but needs suspension work. Despite their 5.5. liter engines, both cars are a bit underwhelming stock.
